Have you managed to build them up?
I'm quite well built but have skinny forearms, beginning to be quite self conscious about it..

You worry too much. No one will either notice or care

Do you think a T Rex ever felt self conscious about his skinny forearms? Of course not!

No one will care as is stated unless its 6am am in a cafe and your surrounded by scaffolders and they will truly be disgusted with you

Being serious sadly it is what it is back in the day all these mags and courses promised me "oak tree legs" well 25 years of training I must have been sent the wrong course I was still a proud owner of "pelican legs" mind you I could squat 250x8 which wasnt bad I guess. Genes are genes

Ankles and wrists, I would like a nice watch but the trend is big watches they look ridiculous on me and my ankles are stupidly thin I cycle so my thighs and calfs are good but proportionally odd as legs go, sparrows ankles i have damn it.

Pull up bar - just hang off one until you cry for your mum, then hold on for another 2 hours. Everyday.

My forearms were as big as my upper arms when I went climbing 3 times a week. They were rock hard after every climbing session.

Yes, especially if you use those rubber grips that fit over the bars and make it 2" - 3" thick.

Or hang off your fingertips rather than doing full grip?

I had quite slim forearms until I got a job lifting heavy rolls of materials for printing onto.

It is genetic but of course can definitely be improved with weight lifting exercises.

Get a twelve inch leght of broom handle and rap some string around it about a four foot length will do and tie a pound or two of weight to the end of the string.

Then at arms length raise and lower the weight by rolling and unrolling the string until you can't do it any more repeat until you look like popeye

Some of those fingertip holds climbers use are good for this.

ETA just realised HOOFY's already mentioned climbing.

Exactly. As with so many health/fitness matters, the answer is to choose better parents.

Everyones unique genes will determine how each muscle group develops irrespective of how much work you put in the gym.
I think it's simply a case of doing extra exercises to target those muscles but have to ask yourself if it's really worth it.....

Sometimes you can overcome stty genetics, other times it’s an impossibility. Good friend of mine is of African heritage and just cannot build his calves. Thighs will burst jeans, calves look like they belong on a ten year old boy rofl

Genetics determine the shape of the muscle, and the degree it responds. But it’s a cop out to think you can make the most of yours.

Look at before and after a of Dorian Yates, or Shawn Rhoden, or Kevin Levrone. To look at, you’d say crap genetics. (I’m aware they juice- but that grows whats there)

I was skinny, not I’m not. I train forearms, and now they’re decent, before they were sticks.

You want bigger forearms- train them hard and smart. Same with any muscle. They might not end up huge- but I guarantee they’ll be bigger and better- just takes a lot of time, consistency and effort

I used to regularly train by having a fingerboard attached via rope to a barbell with 30kg of weights on it and just hold for as long as I could.
