Engine 'Blanket'

Your advice please.
My 'Proffesionally' fitted bonnet heat shield recently detached itself from the underside of the bonnet and fell onto the engine (causing 100 degrees on the needle) Presumably the wrong glue was used.
Can anyone advise of the correct glue as I am running without the sheild at the mo.
It looks like a straight forward job to d. Any caveats?
Ta!!

Going by what the RT.HON.S.Heath has to say on the subject, you can use industrial grade 3M double sided tape. which probably has speed benefits whilst fitting. or Araldite rapide.. The least appealing suggestion in the bible, although I'm sure its works fine, is 'no more nails'!!!
I think the trick is to clean the surfaces fully first to ensure a good bond...the bible's got some tips on it if you have one to hand..
I'd be interested what you do use? and how it goes?
I certainly prefer the contact adhesive approach and was gonna use this myself when I get round to it.. wasn't sure about temp resistance. but its obviously fine....

'me too' for the Evostick contact adhesive and Araldite options, both worked fine (on different cars). The V8S doesn't have a heat shield at all, have you considered simply leaving it off?
I dont mind leaving it off but what's the engine to underside of bonnet clearence like on the V8S, similar to the Grif's?
Theoretically the engine bay should run cooler without it anyway.
Araldite sounds good but I would need more than the two little tubes, or did you buy lots of them.
As for impact Evo, I think that's what they used but not enough IMHO.
Many thanks to you all, I may even do something about it this weekend.
TA!
