VW Toureg remap ! Will it give me better mpg ?
Discussion
As with all ""maps" it all depends on what the map is programmed for.
Manufacturers use a map that balances performance with economy based on what the research of their consumers wants.
A "mapper" can move the map so that it increased economy and decreases performance.
By what amount depends on how much they move it which woudl be based on how much you're wanting to compromise performance.

No for all intents and purposes.
It's takes a certain amount of energy to move an object at a specific speed and a remap won't change that fact.
However if you delete things like the DPF and EGR along with a remap to map them out then you might see a small efficiency increase.
But that's illegal and you won't save more than it cost you in the first place.
It does get more complicated with gear ratios and where peak torque is in the powerband but the short answer is it won't save you any money.
