Volvo Service Plans: Better deals?

I've got a new XC90 on PCH, and was hoping to partake in some of the very good Volvo service plan offers I saw in the dealerships when i'd been browsing. I was informed on here that they don't apply to PCH - and confirmed by the dealer today.

I can get a service plan for £1400 for 4 years, which is near enough what the actual servicing would cost. The only real benefit is spreading the cost, free puncture repairs, and fixed costs should they increase over the next 4 years.

Is there a market for service plans? Will i be able to get a more competitive quote elsewhere?

Remember that Volvo servicing included a years ‘free’ breakdown cover (pretty all inclusive as well). Factor this in when looking around.

I already get 3 years as it's a new car, so it's not really much of a consideration. Maintenance was +50pm on the lease, and the Volvo service plan works out about 32pm but obviously without tyres or one MOT. The deals I'd seen on non-PCH service plans was I think 600 total for the same term.

My local BMW dealershiip charges about £20 quid a litre for LLO4 spec oil.

I now simply provide my own LL04 which can be bought atca fraction of what the stealership will charge. Saves me about £75 each service
