Best rj45 / ethernet cable adaptor to amazon fire stick
Discussion
Hi folks,
we are in the middle of remodelling / rebuilding our house and things are all a bit temporary.
Our router has been moved and our older smart tv with firestick is getting a terrible signal.
However last week the full house was cabled for cat6, so I have a cat6 outlet next to the tv back to the switch / router.
Is there an adaptor anyone can recommend for getting the network (broadband) into the firestick?
Any help appreciated!

I use the fire box which has both Wifi and Ethernet.
This is what you need here :-

Wireless access point.
Uses the cable to create a wireless network wherever it is. One might be enough if centrally located, else you can have multiple output the same network, and or a mesh based system which doesn't need the network cable backhaul.

Far better with the wired connection, though an access point/bridge is an option. Uses the cable to create a wireless network wherever it is. Personally I would just buy a fire box (far better processor) and relegate the stick.

Be aware that the Amazon Ethernet plug-in adapter is limited to 10/100 because it connects to a USB micro port which doesn’t support bitrates for anything higher. I bought a bunch of them as I assumed wired > wifi until I found out that quality got worse!
It may still be better than your existing wifi but won’t be as good as a decent wifi setup say with a mesh access point.
I assume that a Fire device with a built in Ethernet socket will be Gbps capable, but worth checking.

Thanks for the continued input on this.
I had already ordered and received the genuine amazon adapter and it has indeed fixed my problem - no buffering etc.
That is very interesting to hear that it will only provide 10/100, I guess down the line I'll need to keep that in mind.
Our Tv is very small (about 28/30 inch) as the room is tiny due to all our other rooms being uninhabitable! When we finish I assumed I be able to plug a newer smart Tv into the cat 6 directly to avoid wifi, am I now wrong in thinking that, if so I'll need to get the amazon Cude etc I assume!

Don't worry about the ethernet speed. It will probably not be the bottleneck in your setup, and will be fine for streaming HD content (most services require way less than your local 100Mbps ethernet will provide).I had already ordered and received the genuine amazon adapter and it has indeed fixed my problem - no buffering etc.

New TVs? Not sure they will all continue with ethernet connections. But for now plenty do and yes you can plug them into your Cat6

It might be an idea to ensure you can get decent wifi performance throughout the house though. Wired connections are my preference where possible, but wifi is handy to have and easy to do now (especially if you have a couple of Cat6 connections in each room).
