OK, heres the deal.

Last week my brakes started making a strange sound like the pads were down to the rivets, so I bought a new set and last night, whipped the pads off the Offside front and had a nosey, one pad, the outer pad, was low, but the inboard one looked good as new, I checked the disc and it was acceptable, but it does need replaced in the next 6000 miles ish (low, but not low enough to cause concern).

So I whipped those pads back on, after making sure no foreign objects got in between the pads and the disc etc, I looked at the nearside and they were both good a new.

1. Anyone got any suggestions for the uneven pad wear?

Anyway, this morning I went to RN Faslane and the brakes, right from the off were making a horrendous noise, like the sound of metal on metal! When I arrived, I looked at the disc and there was a huge groove in the disc, on the way back it ot even worse, so not wanting to risk the disc breaking, I went and bought a pair of damn discs at £21 EACH!

Any tips on preventing the same thing happening again?!

Cheers
Stuart!

Cheers Den, Last time I did the pads I cleaned the calipers themselves but nothing else, I've got a tube grease sitting in the cupboard so I'll put that to use at long last!

Thats my sunday taken care of!
