How do they do it?
I like F1, I watch F1, I want to record F1 races when I'm not around.
But SKY Q is very clever and playing a interesting game, it populates my planner with FP 1,2 &3 recordings, "welcome to the weekend" shows, Quali etc etc. Blah blah.
Each F1 weekend I end up with a recordings planner full of multiple series recordings of literally everything except the race itself.
Every single time.
Case in point this morning, I just went to check the race at Spa is being recorded later. But no.
Anyone else have this? Or know how to fix? (And yes, the race shows up as being on series record).

Sky tags series linked programmes one at a time, the race will only appear on the record list a few mins after the pre-show starts, the post-show or Notebook only after the race starts. I don't trust series link at all (WTF does it do or not do with Indycar??!?) so if I'm not going to be around I add them manually..

As above, once the show before the actual race starts recording, the race will then appear in the planner. It's the same with shows like EastEnders. Tuesday's episode will only appear after Monday's recording has started.

It will record the race, it also likes to record all of the other guff. Mine does the same. It’s fairly annoying.

Do you have ultra HD, if so just go to the ultra HD menu, it's not split into sections it's an all in one recording from start of buildup to post race stuff.

Otherwise remember races in Europe always start at 2pm UK time and record the one that covers the 2hrs+ from 2pm.

Although these days the flag drops (well the red lights go out) at 2.10ish so that TV Companies on a tight schedule can start their broadcast at 2.00 and not miss the start.

I think there's a bug (it existed on old box) where it only remembers to record the first programme of a a day.So if you set it to record the pre-race series and the race series, the next week it'll only remember to record the pre-race programme and you have to manually do the race.

No big like that on Sky+HD or Q for at least the last 8 years or so.

The only problem can be when the series links aren't properly set up - happened for the 70th Anniversary gp, but was fixed by the end of FP1.

I recently upgraded to a Sky Q 2TB box and the bug still exists

Mine hasn't missed a session in years except the FP session they forgot to link.

As others said, it only flags as record when 1 step away, its not a bug, its supposed to do that.

Yep, I think fa77 just doesn't realise it only shows the next recording in a series, not all of them.

Yesterday's F1 recordings, all done automatically by series linking.
