Got home tonight, turned on the PC and for 10 minutes the monitor was fine, then it suddenly got a white 'tint' to the screen. almost like someone is shining a torch sideon over the screen.
I've tried turning it off, bashing it, kicking it, unplugging it and nothing works.

Is it ed, or fixable for a very cheap price?

Cheers
Stuart

Checked the leads? If you've got a spare lead, try that.

Tried that Den. The only thing remotely related to magnetics sitting next to the monitor are my floppy disks, but they have been there for the 5 years I've had the monitor with no effect. The only other thing is a jar of money!

I've just noticed a very thin coloured line running across the bottom corner, so I'm thinking knackered!

Checked leads, Power Supplies, blah blah blah, I did a PC Support and maintenance course at College, but as the BTaP Nominations show, I spent most of my time on here rather than listening to the lecturer. For some reason, I didn't get much on monitors!

Sounds like a plan, although I prefer the 14lb hammer approach myself. Need to get a new one first though!

Sounds like monitor on its way out, TVRadict. One thing to try is the contrast though as a white tint could be just the constrast p*ssing about. But my guess is its time to look at new monitors.

Just got in? ? Is that why?
Mine went up the spout and had it repaired. If all else has been tried get quote for a repair, might be cheaper, shoudn't cost anything for the quote. I think.

R U sure the speakers are not to close, had the same issue with mine a while back, if not then buy a new one, they are so cheap now its hardly worth the repair bill (plus you get a warranty).

Have you got accidental damage on your home contents insurance? If so, butter up those hands - it's time to relocate your monitor to another room in the house, careful on the stairs though
