How refreshing to see the response from people in the UK, rebutting the notion that Adele has committed the crime of Cultural Appropriation.

We need much more of this rejection of negative behaviour.

Loving the pic of him in a suit and bow tie...

As a person of colour it drives me insane when people like this try to create outrage where none exists. Attention seeker, nothing more.

It’s not worth precious time to explain why this is not even remotely an issue.

Can't see how people are for multiculturalism on one hand and bemoan cultural appropriation with the other.

Thing is, when we debate either does multiculturalism work or how can it work better we are asking the wrong questions.

Because multiculturalism doesn't exist as we know it. Sure different peoples and thus cultures exist in one 'pot' now and in history, but they always, without fail, assimilate each other. Doesn't have to be fully in absolute terms however when you have differing beliefs, behaviours, ideas, preferences, prejudices and practices alike in one country or territory integration occurs alongside ostracisation.

'Culture war' isn't a thing that has only happened in the past nor something to fear in the future. It's happening not just now but always as a part of cultures living in the same space. A gradual change evolves through the bulk of society and the unworkable leftovers of both a dominant culture and emerging cultures within the dominant one are discarded for want of a better word by various means.

The strongest, read the most invigorating cultures always survive; they just don't stay exactly the same.

Looking at Twitter he seems to tweet about once every 5 minutes about something or other. Far too much time on his hands.

Love the way barely anyone is agreeing with him about Adele.

Well, he needs to get his suit off quick sharp and pick up a spear.

(Tongue in cheek and not serious comment before the snowflakes report).

He's basically a troll. People like him crave attention like a drug. He's like the black Welshbeef.

I watched that the other week and it was hilarious!

I did wonder, though - can a white man laugh at the jokes referencing black culture... or is that also cultural appropriation??

Adele is looking hot, either way.

Lammy does the odd 3 hour show on LBC every now and then.

Worth a listen as you hear a side of him that doesn't come through from the stuff that most people pick up on.

Lammy comes across as someone who is much more reasonable and nuanced than he can sometimes appear to be. Wonder if he's playing one of the many available political games when he goes off on certain things. Then there's the angle that staffers will often pump out the tweets/posts that can be deemed for better or worse 'woke' etc.
