Just picked up my new Toyota gt86 Club today, I have it booked in for a ceramic coating. It's a bit gutting having waited a few weeks to get it and then having to hand it away again for a few days but I'm sure it will be worth it, especially being able to protect it from new rather than trying to fix previous owners attempts at detailing...

One thing I'm not sure about is the side stripes, what are people's opinion on these? I'm 50/50 on them but want to make my mind up before it goes off for the coating tomorrow.

Lovely looking car.

I think the stripes suit it.

Please keep us updated on how you get on with it, I've a big soft spot for Toyota sports cars.

Again I like the stripes, what I don't like are the wheels and the ride height. I'm sorry to be critical as I do realise you may like both the wheels and ride height but in my opinion every GT86 is under wheeled and rides to high which to my eyes ruins the aesthetics of what is otherwise a nice looking car.

Anyway your car so enjoy it.

ignore the aesthetics, it's a car to be driven!
16" is the only acceptable tyre change, but 17" fine. this is not a bro car. (well, sometimes it is)

Ride height and wheels look perfectly suited as a B-road weapon to me

I would keep the stripes, they’re pretty subtle but do add to the looks.

Thanks for all the kind replies guys! I made the call to go without the stripes, though I'm still really on the fence with it. I figured I'd regret removing the stripes less than I would regret keeping them if I changed my mind down the line...if that makes any sense...

I do feel it looks very high myself, I'm tempted to change wheels and lower it a tad. Will just need to have a think about what wheels and how many mm to drop.

Just spotted this - congrats. thumbup

Think long and hard before you mod/mess with ride height/wheels. If feasible, drive a car with your intended spec - it may not be what you expect.
