Ferrari shows at Goodwood
Judge the 612 Scaglietti for yourself
Ferrari has revealed what it will be showing at the Festival of Speed at Goodwood this weekend, starting today and ending on Sunday.
Cars on show include the Superamerica, an F430 in Fiorano Ferrari livery and a 612 Scaglietti; they'll will be driven up Goodwood Hill by professional racing drivers and members of the UK media, according to the Prancing Horse.
The latest addition to the Ferrari stable, the limited-edition 12-cylinder convertible Superamerica will take part in the Supercar run. Just 559 examples of the Superamerica will be built featuring the Revocromico roof, with variable transparency and which can fold back in less than 10 seconds.
The Superamerica punches out 540bhp and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds. It will be driven up the hill on all three days.
The F430 appears at Goodwood in Fiorano Ferrari livery. With 490 hp available it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in four seconds with a top speed almost 200 mph.
The all-aluminium 612 Scaglietti is a four-seater whose looks have proved so controversial that rumours suggest that a revision of the ugly nose may well be on the cards. Its V12 makes 540bhp, and it has a top speed of 199 mph.
Formula 1
The Ferrari Formula 1 Team will be represented by F1 test driver Marc Gené, who will be driving a Ferrari F2003-GA up Goodwood Hill.
Looking after the car will be Ferrari F1 Clienti, a branch of the Corse Clienti Division. This department was created by Ferrari following increasing demand from customers to purchase and drive Ferrari F1 cars.
Tickets
Remember, you can only get tickets in advance, not at the gate.
The good thing is that you've got time to find a pitch along the course before the cars start their runs.
Other than that, there are two ways that I've 'done' Goodwood:
1) Take it easy, sample the atmosphere and watch a few cars, spot a few celebs/drivers.
2) Run around like a blue-bummed fly seeing everything and getting autographs from everyone you find!
Either way, make sure you get a programme!
please can they take some pics of the maserati birdcage,(the concept). I went there today but by the time I got to the supercar paddock they had the wraps back on.
Can someone also please get the full name of the Moretti being showed. Its in the Cartier section. right at the beggining.
Thanks.......

Im sorry, but thats a fugly Ferrari. Good stats though !
THERE IS NO SUCH THING!!!!
You're just the kind of overly-biased, turns-a-blind-eye person that annoys me. The proportions are all wrong (look at the wheelbase) and it still has almost no rear seat room. Admittedly more than a 911 or old DB7, but thats not hard. No matter how well it drives, IT IS STILL UGLY!

hmm chill out - bebbs is just as entitled to his opinion as you sir

And for my moey the 612 is a gorgeous looking bit of kit - see one on the move (like the argento one that blitzed past us in the services near Rouen on the way back form LM and you would possibly change your opinion

Try sitting in the back of one - it's as comfortable as the back of my 3200 - proper rear GT seats for 6' plus people

I initially sat in one at the NY motorshow and loved the interior but felt the silver really didn't do it justice. Later I was in a taxi and saw one in Hong Kong pull along side me a drive off and my mind was changed. Absolutely have to see one in the flesh and it is quite colour sensitive. This one was in a light blue.

bigbaddom:
I was at Goodwood on Saturday, and managed to grab a few pics of the Maserati Birdcage in the (very crowded) supercar paddock, as well as see it in action along the hillclimb route.
You can see some pics of it here:

Also, I think the full name of the Moretti you were describing was the 1955 Moretti 750 Sport Bialbero. I didn't realise I had a picture of it until I actually got home and looked at my images!
For anyone who's never been: this was my first time at Goodwood. It was great: well organised, lots to see (and HEAR) and a really good atmosphere, despite the big crowds in the paddocks. Think I might do the Friday next year though, as it might be easier to get a better look at all the cars?
