Getting leather gloves wet ok?
Discussion
I think drying them slowly is the preferred approach. In my experience, when it's been necessary to dry them on a radiator, they feel a bit crusty afterwards.
Use some leather feed to keep them supple.
Don't know whether crash protection is compromised but I suspect not (if they're dry at the time of the crash).

Don't dry them out with extreme heat - I understand that does more damage than getting them wet - let them dry gently in an airing cupboard or something.
If they do get drenched & they were very expensive you could use some leather feed or leather dubbin (from a saddlers).
Mine have been soaked before & are totally fine.

I lent them to someone a short while ago. He suffered a low speed spill and the gloves were hardly marked. His cheapo jacket was another story, though.

As I said, though, they still protected my friend during his spill - hardly a scuff on them, and no broken stitching. If I posted pictures of the palms you'd be hard presses to see where they hit the deck.

What gave way in the end? Mine have gone a bit bleached looking after 4 years but still look and feel strong.

I replaced them with some Dainese - similar all-black styling (so Kitty would like them). They weren't cheap but if they last five years then thats about £30 p.a. for protected mits. Bargain.
