After 16 years of ownership my Cerbera is in the body shop for a well deserved colour change ( still in 19 year old original paint). While it’s in pieces I’ve decided to have the badges restored, new side lights and the SP12 wheels refurbed.

So now it’s just the front screen which will annoy me as it’s gone milky in the corner. Anyone know of any late model front screens available. TVR parts list them but no shipping, any closer to Northampton?

Cheers, ceejay

I had my windscreen replaced 3 years ago during a complete refurb. I just used Autoglass. Told them it was a Mark 1 Cerbera and they came and fitted it at the side of my house. Did a pretty good job too. Also, if you make sure you tell them what year and variant the car is - if they come with the wrong windscreen it's on them - not you. Just make sure they leave the top seal long - so you can trim it to fit under the carbon pillar covers.

Thanks guys, phoned around quite a few places today and Autoglass claim to have the screen in stock and are cheaper fitted than tvr parts quote just for the screen.

When I needed one for my '98 Cerbera last year, it took 6 weeks to get a screen. The windscreen place had to buy it in from TVR Parts in the end and pay shipping.

The Mk2 screens for cars with the painted A pillars were held in stock at Central TVR plus other places, but not the early ones. frown

Seems strange, last one I needed was just a few months ago and it was delivered next day from TVR Parts, I have had three from them in the last few years due to various reasons all ex stock.

I think it was due to the windscreen company approved by the insurance company not wanting to pay their shipping charges, and trying to get a generic one! It wasn't my only car, the crack wasn't too massive, so I didn't push it until after a few weeks. Yes, TVR Parts had them in stock, but nobody else, even Sportmotive and DG had none at the time.

I even tried to get one myself from TVR Central but they only had stock of the later ones. They buy them in bulk to save on shipping and wasn't willing to get just one.

The problem is it is specific to the model and so low demand.

In order to get a screen manufactured they need to be ordered en mass which means one source, of supply to us punters.
