Help with DECT phone.

I was in the middle of a call this morning when there was an almighty flash of lightning. All the lights went out briefly, and then I was almost deafened by a loud sustained burst of static from the phone. I turned it off, but now when I try and dial out, there's no dial tone, just loud static. I've checked the line with an old analogue phone, and that works, and the broadband is still working (the important thing!). The additional handset is also just giving out static. New phone time?

On that basis I would say
(You can buy extension leads with surge suppressors these days, might be worth buying one at the same time to save your new phone)

Doesn't sound good but have you tried the old "Disconnect, Unplug and leave it a few minutes, then go through the install/setup procedure" trick?
Does the base unit still have power? Sound like it - if I unplug mine the handphone is silent.
Still, different manufacturers may have different symptoms.
At least if you get another base unit you may be able to continue woth the extra phiones you have. But then prices recently mean it is probably not worth much ot do that!
