I'm after a pair of headphones .

I've got tinnitus so my range is 27hz-8927 hz .

Because of this high end stuff like cymbals etc are lost on me ( i think ) so when i read reviews and they mention the headphones are soft/warm/neutral would these be the sort of thing i should go for ?

Budget is about $100 and quite happy to buy used so looking at sennheiser hd598/558 maybe used pair of hd6xx , philips fidellio x2, akg 712, b&o h6 , hifiman 4xx/400 .

I don't claim to be an expert, but I'd go for brighter ones personally, they might in some ways compensate for the loss of high frequencies by having louder response at high frequency. I'd have thought headphones with rolled off highs might be even more muffled and boring sounding due to not having the high frequency energy of a brighter set. Be interested to hear other peoples thoughts on the subject though.

If possible get to a hifi shop and do some auditioning.

I saw these on Twitter a few weeks ago and had considered getting a pair as I've got tinnitus and it can be bloody annoying at times! Think I'll order a pair.
As an aside, I repaired a tweeter on my speaker the other day and wasn't sure if it was working correctly so ran a high frequency test via YouTube to test, I inadvertently found out I basically can't hear anything above 9100khz!

Did you mean 9100hz? Otherwise you have unbelievably good hearing biggrin

Seriously though, I did a freq test the other day and my hearing cut off at around 13K - I'm 41. I'm guessing that's not great laugh

I ended up with a pair of shure.

My query wasn't really about tinnitus specialist headphones more like if you can't hear the high stuff are you better off with something more bose like that focus on the bass and mids .

Aye, 9100hz, not kHz! (Was going to write 9k hz and got distracted biggrin) I'm 50 at the end of the month, worked in noisy print factories for too long, standing next to noisy fkin folding machines for full shifts with the thing going like a bding machine gun and the operator refusing to put the noise diffusers down due to needing to constantly adjustment the machine likely done it!
