What did you do with your classic today?

Finally found time to replace the front brake cylinders on my Traction today. It wasn’t a job I was looking forward to, one of the front brakes had seized and the bleed nipple on the other side was knackered. The front hubs require a special puller to remove, luckily I had one, making the process significantly easier. All in probably about three hours worth of work to replace the front cylinders, wrestling with either seized fixings or trying to find the spanner I’d just put down..

Tomorrow’s plan is to bleed the system and hopefully the first drive in almost two months.

Just a new set of plugs and some basic checks on the Alfa before heading over to Stow Maries (WW1 airfield in Essex) on Sunday for their Wings & Wheels event - weather looking good too

nothing as we had to cancel 2 trips to France I should be getting it ready for our 2 week trip to France next week not been out since MOT 2nd August last year but we hope it will be clear for May next year

my favorite light fifteen first saw one in Gent in 1962 while hitch hiking it was a police car that had come to the YMCA as a passport had been stolen it looked great as it drove up the drive siren screaming and lights flashing, yes we were doing the D-DAY beaches again 2 week trip

It's been a rotten year, hasn't it? We had planned to drive the NC500 in April in our Riley but had to cancel, fortunately without loss of any deposits. Then we had the chance of ten days away in September but rather than go to Scotland we headed south to Pembrokeshire where we've spent a week in Tenby. It's been our first trip in the Riley since last October.

Tomorrow we leave for home in Derbyshire - the long way. We're going to St David's Head then across country by B roads to Ness Point, Lowestoft; the most westerly point in Wales to most easterly point of England. Last year we drove LeJoG, also via B roads, again navigating using tulip diagrams.

Hopefully next year will be better and we'll be able to re-schedule our Scottish trip or find another similar drive to do. I quite fancy a 'Hug the Coast' trip taking in the whole of the mainland but in the winter to avoid tourist traffic.
