It's the latest Smarmy's Auction Emporium's Barn Find of the decade.

Easily made into a numbers-matching period-racer for just a few shekels. Photos (blurred unfortunately, but with letters of provenance) of it being driven by Fangio and Rosemeyer could be found if required.

Will be worth £squinty millions when restored, especially if one of the classic magazines prints an article about Smarmy's follow-up auction of the now-finished Goodwood eligible 'find'.

Well the bodywork has a sort of Austin 7 Ulster look about it, but may be bigger than that.

The seats could have come from practically anything.

The engine to the left seems to be a 4 cylinder with twin (SU?) carbs and a crossflow design, while that to the right looks 6 cylinder, overhead cam and triple carbs.

Smaller one puts me in mind of an MG J-Type or similar. Larger one appears orientated the wrong way round to be a Jaguar XK or Aston Martin, so no clues there.

What about an Aston Martin 1.5 litre engine on the left, as found in the Ulster? Maybe the bodywork and seats too?
