Is that the colour scheme they're going for? Jeez, imagine that on Paul Ricard - those epilepsy best not watch..
I think that's a lovely Union Flag design, so nice of Alpine to recognise Britain's huge role in F1.
IMHO Renault are about to try and pivot as a manufacturer from volume to unit profitability. So in the “new” Renault, Dacia will be the volume brand using old Renault platforms, Renault the premium brand consisting of hybrids and EV’s, Alpine the performance end.
So rebranding the F1 team as Alpine makes sense when RenaultSport no longer has a place in the brand line up.
Will performance Renaults be branded Alpine, I certainly wouldn’t rule that out in the longer term.

It will be nice to see Alpine racing in F1. But why would they move from promoting Renault which sells hundreds of thousands of cars a year around the world to Alpine which sells a few thousand? Could this mean that they will re-brand their Renault road cars as Alpines?
I'd be expecting the next quick Clio's and Megane's to start wearing Alpine badges also and the Renault Sport brand disappearing. Mercedes,Mclaren and Ferrari reap the rewards with their performance cars due to F1.
Renault have belatedly realized they dont promote anything relevant to the f1 car.
They cant put out a snarling beast of a car called a Renault as nobody would buy it.
They seem to have a better idea what they are doing it for now and I bet the renault name will be on the car somewhere anyway.

A better idea than Citroen utterly dominating WRC for years and doing as little as possible to capitalise on it. Isn't the Alpine rumoured to be scrapped though?
Rumoured, maybe, but the rumours are wrong. The A110 was only ever planned to have a 6 year production span, and Renault have now committed to continuing production until then. This is clearly endorsed by the F1 rebranding. The only real question is what, if anything, comes next, and there have been rumours both of an Alpine SUV (complete with concept pics), and of a hybrid or electric replacement for the A110.Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
