No Sat Nav SIM Card

Was looking at updating the sat nav maps as mentioned on another thread, but no SD card in the sat nav just a hole where it should go.

Was going to call the dealer who I purchased from but it’s been over 12 months so doubt if they will do anything.

Anyone know where I could purchase a new SD card, or will I have to go down the dealer network and bend over.

Afaik the SD card will only be there if the maps have been updated. The standard maps are built in somewhere in the system (or at least that's how it works on my DB9.2) When you buy your updated maps from ebay etc. they should come on an SD card that you just plug into the system. The new maps are then available to choose and use

That’s the link above that I have been looking at to update the maps, but it starts with backing up the existing SD card.

Do not want to screw up the existing software which is the problem as I cannot copy as no existing SD card.

If I purchased a new SD card there seems to be no way to copy the existing sat nav database.

You’d only back up the existing SIM if there’s one in there With existing (updated) data on it. You can’t screw up the embedded data in the sat nav. Just follow the instructions. You can’t go too far wrong. I just updated mine and it works very well.
