Window tint or not?
Discussion
Why would it look better? The rear windows wouldn't match the front ones! For me it destroys the visible continuity of the car's appearance. There may be other benefits to having rear tinted windows but aesthetics certainly isn't one of them. Also, for me I'd be concerned that visibility toward the left rear quarter of the car will be hampered at night. If I were trying to move into a lane to the left of mine on a dual carriageway or motorway it'd be harder to see if there was a car in the left lane overlapping the rear of mine.

This. It looks much better un-tinted. Totally agree about visual continuity, especially on a coupé.roadsmash said:
Generally there is a negative vibe on PH about window tints. But I quite like them and the opinion of some bloke sat in his pants in front of his laptop is of no concern to me.
If you like them with tints, get them... don’t let anyone else convince you otherwise.

Thanks for that...I now have the image of a bunch of powerfully built company directors sat anoyt in their pants getting worked up about window tints...
On a more serious note, stick to factory levels and it looks fine to my eyes.
I don't like the look on saloon and coupes, but don't mind it on estates. I had a very light tint put on the back half of my old Touring but I wouldn't do it again.
I liked the way it looked but I didn't like how even that light tint restricted vision out at night. Of course, vans have no rear visibility at all except through the door mirrors but nevertheless I didn't like only being able to see headlights and not detail in the central mirror after having it done. Not everyone will care as much, I know.

I was really unsure of my touring and its tints when I first bought it; but they've really grown on me now and I've decided to keep them as they are.
I was looking to get them removed and go for a lighter tint; but unfortunately there are aerials in the rear quarter glass and I've been advised they'd probably be damaged upon removal
Pic FYI:

I'd say the rear quarter windows on the OPs car; in a not too dark tint would look well; maybe a touch darker on the very rear and lighter on the front windows?

I’ve had 2 cars over the years with tinted rear glass, my current car being one of them. The previous owners paid for it, I don’t think I would but I think my cars that had it looked better with it and the kids like the privacy and shade in the back.
Also I can leave stuff on the back seats without being as worried if it was clear glass.
