"Class" on the cheap.Possible?

I find myself fancying a classy or timeless coupe. If I had the budget I would go for a Maserati, Aston etc. But of course I don't have the budget. So it's an old case of champagne taste on beer budget. But maybe a very cheap champagne?
What would you say would be the "cheap skate" as 5th gear calls it, option? Am I stuck to old Mercedes coupes? Would MUCH prefer RWD. But it must be a manual gearbox.
I know some may roll the eyes when class on cheap is brought up. But for example the S-type looks classy and is dirty cheap. So a coupe in that vein. Just something not crass, which looks somehow classy or classic.
How cheap? Dirty cheap! S-type gives you an idea. But must be a coupe. No convertibles with hardtops, hot hatches and so on.

To me nothing beats a clean Aston db7 coupe silhouette in terms of classic respectability. There are very few modern cars that pull it off at this price. Most are too fussily designed.
Best has to be an old jag xk 4.2.
I’ve always liked the look of the Mitsubishi fto and it’s dirt cheap.
In the sub 500 category I can only think of the Hyundai coupe. Imagine it with some not-s
t wheels on and de-ambered headlights.

Thank you for your contribution. I tend to agree on the GTV, if you mean the 916. The 80s ones are not affordable anymore. But the 916 is and I quite like the look of the late ones, at around 2003. Pity though that only silver, black and the like are cheap. With Alfas, any time the car is red it costs 3x as much. But I would quite love a red GTV with cream leather seats. But not likely to find one for cheap. Also, are they reliable enough?Both FWD, but I would say Alfa GTV and Fiat Coupe.
The Fiat Coupe I will have to disagree. Somehow a bit boy racer IMO. But of course opinions differ and that's fine.

Although I think mainly if they are black, which is the majority of it. Maybe also only the saloons? I'm not sure a silver estate would be seen as gangster. Or even a coupe?
I wonder if it's the same in other European countries and the USA? German cars have a gangster image there too?

t wheels on and de-ambered headlights.Absolutely! If I could afford and if they could take the beating I would love to drive a manual DB7 as my everyday car. They have aged very well indeed IMO.
The XK is beautiful. But neither dirty cheap or manual, unfortunately.
FTO looks nice. But to me it's a different type of car. It is more in the boy racer side IMO. Maybe it's the wing. Or at least more sporty than classy.
Which Hyundai Coupe do you mean? The early ones or late ones?

Thanks for your contribution. I find the GTV classy as well. Arguably more than the GT or at least as much. What about it don't you like? But I agree the GT in the right color and trim is classy. I think most Alfas are really.
Can't agree on the Audi though. I find nothing classy about Audi. Just too aggressive looking IMO. And isn't the A6 a 4 door saloon? Do you mean the A5?

Alfa GT is indeed cheap. Pity the desirable red ones cost quite a bit more. But a good shout as is the GTV.Breras have not become dirty cheap yet right?

BMW E92 so long as you avoid the brash M-Sport kitted ones and stick to a nice presentable SE in a "classy" colour.
You'll likely only make a 320i (or 325i at a push) with the budget at hand, but they still look more than "nice".
I'd personally ditch the requirement for a manual box as that opens up far more in the way of selection.

Any - whichever most floats your boat. I personally have 05-07 (aka gen3.5) but also like 07-09 (aka 3rd gen). 1st gen was pretty but is old. 3rd gen has the best stock wheels imo.Where they are quite good is (subjective) looks, insanely low price and low running cost. They are also well equipped. In other respects they are adequate - neither terrible nor great.
