Burning oil?

If for some sad reason i don't get to use my griff 500 for a while,when i start her up again she sometimes smokes and smells oily.
This happens when the engine first gets warm but it goes after a couple of minutes.
Does anybody else have this problem?

Sounds like oil getting past the valve seals. If it only does it when the car's been left standing for a while I wouldn't worry too much

I have the same problem, very smokey for a few minutes then okay, no oil being lost though. Traced what I think is the casue, noticed a patch of fluid on L/H manifold directly under power steering pump which is leeking slightly from one of the hose unions, the fluid is finding it's way into the exaust system where the manifold meets the pipe.
