Are Porsche dealership prices and terms negotiable?
Discussion
I am thinking to buying a new 718 gts.
Was quoted 6.4% apr on PCP with £1k dealership contribution.
Do these guys ever negotiate on new cars or is it always what it is in the UK?
Could one get different terms from dealership to dealership, or is it not worth even trying?
Finally what’s the best dealership within reasonable distance from London, so that sales people sound at least remotely interested and professional?
Thanks

Don’t mean to put you off but most Porker dealers I’ve dealt with are highly incompetent and arrogant. They are very similar to Rolex sales staff. Was quoted 6.4% apr on PCP with £1k dealership contribution.

I’ve tried and failed with south London, tonbridge, Cardiff and Guildford.
I would suggest avoiding ones that are part of the Porsche Retail Group, basically all the ones owned directly by Porsche GB.

I should imagine if that were the case, business would dry up and said dealers would close?
In particular, I find not only my local Rolex AD to be a fabulous place to spend time and purchase the occasional watch, but they are some of the nicest people to do business with; great customer service.

Its horses for courses - I tried local (franchised/OPC dealer) and was treated extremely poorly. My experience of Guildford was absolutely spot-on. Maybe that was because it was a January sale?https://www.porscheretailgroup.co.uk/
My advice, don't give up and just keep searching until you find a dealer you gel with. Also I think its important to enjoy the experience.
Re: PCP APR, I think you'll struggle to get them to reduce it, but you could finance via an alternative broker, the downside being you don't have the MGFV safety net to fall back on. But, and its a big but, the above is only relevant if you aren't buying as a keeper.
Another option to consider would be buying dealer demo/low mileage used, although prestige/sports car prices seem to be somewhat elevated at present. If you don't have to buy right now maybe keep a keen eye on prices, get some rapport going with a dealer, and purchase in 3/4/5 months when car sales are usually somewhat subdued.

I can only say that having owned both Porsche and Rolex, I’ve not come across any dealers that were ‘highly incompetent and arrogant’.

Wow. Not in my experience. Of course they can offer poor service because their products are highly sought after and people will take that for the product. Go on UTube and you will see many videos advocating buying flowers for your Rolex dealer in order to get onto the “list”.I should imagine if that were the case, business would dry up and said dealers would close?

I ordered my 718 cayman (2.0 base) late summer 2019 and got it in October. I got approaching 8% off. They were quiet due to Brexit. I took the OPC finance and no they did not shift on the rate.
However, now demand is higher (especially for the new GTS); stock is lower and builds are longer. So who knows what you get discount wise.

Because dealers (Porsche or Rolex) won't give you a discount does not make them incompetent & arrogant!
That’s not what I was saying. Incompetent as in getting basic things wrong like not getting an MOT sorted on a used car, not replying to emails and indirectly asking for bribes to get onto a “list” etcWhen I lived 'down south' I never managed to strike any sort of a deal with any of the London/Surrey/Sussex OPCs, but always managed to get a better deal (and a feeling of being 'looked after') by Porsche Centre Silverstone. I don't know if it was just because they 'weren't London' that they felt they had to try a bit harder, but I was always impressed and went back there even once I'd moved t'north. I dealt with a guy called Mark Lewis, but that was a while back so I guess he may have moved on, although everyone I dealt with there over the years was helpful and impressive.

It's crap now lolI have never been to a nice OPC and must have been to 8 different ones !!
Solihull was the best to date, sadly I have not bought a car from them, but they seem to have the time for you.
Has anyone had experience with Porsche Kendall? The smallest and family run in UK. Always thought they might give good service but dunno really, just speculating...
Obviously nowhere close to London but with delivery / remote buying becoming the norm maybe they'd be worth a call? Plus weekend away and great drive back once delivered (although I would always go for factory collection if I had the opportunity).

Was in there a few weeks ago inquiring about a 4-year service. The lady ‘advisor’ appeared to have as much enthusiasm as a waitress at the end of a double shift. A very ‘take it or leave it’ attitude. Obviously nowhere close to London but with delivery / remote buying becoming the norm maybe they'd be worth a call? Wouldn’t go back in the place.
