Anyone know of a brand made in the UK.

I'm looking for a large rolling tool cabinet with top box so I can bring all my tools together. My current setup has run out of space.

With everything going on today and jobs etc. I thought if I was going to invest then it would be good to make a small contribution to UK jobs.

This is an example of the size I was thinking of (or thereabouts)

If you google them there is a UK based company called SGS engineering who do loads of garage and industrial equipment which I think is UK manufactured.

There's always one of these.

Or one of these

Or even one of these.

I don't know where they are made, but Halfords have a useful range and frequent cut-price sales.
And if you get yourself a Trade Card, a permanent discount: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/trade-card/trade...

I mean I just bought a load of the Sealey modular cabinet stuff. Jack Sealey LTD is a UK company. Depends if you specifically want the units made in the UK.

All excellent stuff BTW.

SGS Engineering are great and they are based in Derby just off J25 of the M1. Dura is fantastic but pricey. They are based next to the Mercedes F1 team near Silverstone.

https://www.sgs-engineering.com/ is also a UK agent for Milwaukee and Ryobi, and they service gas struts. Nice little company. No connection.

I don’t believe they manufacture anything. I do know for certain, that their rollcabs and toolboxes are made offshore. They are identical to others with differing brands on(US Protool,Siegel,Sealey etc) I have two very large stainless US Protool rollcabs, and while they are very good quality for the money, they are definitely made overseas. These were also bought long before they started popping up with different badges on from other sellers. Good luck on your quest, very noble.

SGS stuff is excellent but not sure if they actually make it in the UK?

I doubt any are U.K. made but if you want to support an independent U.K. retailer then look at the motamec ones sold by motorsporttools. I think they own the brand as well

Anything made in the uk is, unfortunately, the most precious rarest thing on earth and priced accordingly. I always try to buy stuff manufactured here but mostly fail !

The SGS low car jack was a good buy though and really well made.

I think made in UK may not be better but I would buy it. Price is a bit top end but that’s what you pay for not having strong manufacturing anymore.

I bought some windows and they are not made in uk. They are good and all but I wish I had spent more in uk made ones as we had an issue with the glass and although it will be resolved it is a pain.

I was trying to find the same a year ago. Found it difficult to clarify where it was physically manufactured. Have to admit I bought Halfords adv instead... Bloody good to be fair
