My sister has sold her house in Australia and wishes to return to UK and buy a house here.
She's finding it very expensive to transfer her money from $ to £.
Has anybody got any advice?

FX rates are at a 2 year low right now, it’s good timing to move AUD to GBP.

Any decent fx broker will beat the bank rates, I use Currency Index

When I used to work in Australia I used to use HIFX (Now known as XE apparently) to transfer money to the UK.

Does your sister need a mortgage? When I returned to the UK I found a number of lenders were not keen to lend as I had not lived in the UK for the previous 2 (might have been 3, I can't remember) years.

Interesting info, I'll pass it on to her.
Thanks for your reply.

Yes, lot of lenders will have a problem with any foreign address history in the last three years as it's difficult to form a credit scoring.....there are lenders who do it though!
