Hi All - so I think I've narrowed my next car down to an A7 or a CLS. I need a Euro 6 compliant car hence why 2015 or later. Autotrader tells me that I can get a CLS for around the £14-15k mark whereas A7s are around the £17-18k mark.

Just wanted to canvass opinions as to whether the A7 is worth the extra outlay in terms of value for money? The A7 is 3 litre quattro whereas the CLS (220) has a smaller engine and is rear wheel drive. All elements considered here e.g. driving pleasure, looks, depreciation and fuel economy.

All thoughts welcome.

Personal choice, but i think the A7 is a much nicer looking car. Plus the 3.0 is a lovely engine.

Personally I’d pick the A7, I think it’s nicer looking, prefer the interior and the 3 litre engine is brilliant, plus it’s 4 wheel drive, not that I don’t like the CLS too but just prefer the Audi.

I wouldn't recommend a CLS with the 220d engine - I've had one for the last 2 years, 2017 shooting brake. I still think it's a stunning car inside and out, and with the premium pack is very well specified indeed, but it needs a 6 cylinder engine - the 220d is too slow and unrefined for the type of car it's supposed to be.

Thank you all, much appreciated. I am slightly leaning to the 3L A7 now but just don’t want to breach that £15k budget!
