My 2007 E93 335i SE didn’t run when I got it having the wiring shorted out into the electric water pump. I fixed all that quite a while ago to get it running & have been fixing all the other little things since.

The cruise control didn’t work right from the first time I took it out, the previous owner told me it did but was a bit of a pain doing things it shouldn’t slowing down etc.

I have just fitted some lower springs & matched shocks. So got DIS hooked up for the first time to reset the active steering as the alignment was the total mess before. It was the first time I’d used DIS (having always used INPA on the E39) it does a full car check showing the pages of old faults stored but not current from the electrical issues, the only current fault was the ACC sensor needing calibration.

I have searched the web & can’t find much on it, just one post from someone who did loads of checking & even getting a different sensor in the end to find it was actually the wiring that was the issue all along. Given the faults mine had that seems a reasonable possibility.

My other thought is the lowered suspension, I guess it would really need recalibrating as the sensor is closer to the road now. However it wasn’t working the first time I tried it with the original suspension so as all the faults are stored I’d have thought I’d see anything else.

So there's a few garages offering these services by me lately as a lot of new cars have this technology as standard these days.
The process often requires the car to have a mirror put in front of it for the alignment process to work.

The good news is it seems that the main dealer is no longer the only option for recalibration. One of the companies near me - Flat Out Alloys in Cardiff have recently advertised this on facebook https://www.facebook.com/flatoutalloys/

I have not use this service and have no affiliation with them.

Thanks

I've recently fitted my F30 with coilovers and the active cruise has been fine since fitted so I'd not think that's cause any extra issues.

It depends on how much it was lowered and whether the vehicle's attitude was changed. There is a degree of tolerance to account for different loads etc but maybe it's too much.
