What sound system?

I have a 65 inch E9 LG Oled, I bought it for better sound but I’ve been quite let down with it to be honest, picture is superb though.

I was thinking about getting an Sonos arc with the rear speakers as well. But I am concerned about The shape of my room as I have a big light fitting in the ceiling and the tv is on the side wall from the chimney so the side speakers would have to make its way around this to get to the sofa. The other side speakers would go out the living room door as well so might not even make it to where we sit.

Is there a simple set up out there that has nice clear sound in dialogue? I don’t was a sub because my room in next to the party wall and I prefer clear dialogue in movies to be honest.

A side note is I watch all my content through the Apple 4K TV. I’m not even sure if the arc would work with my tv?

It sounds like a pretty big room, so I don't know if a sound bar would be good enough?
We have a Panasonic sound base, pretty good for most things, but we only have a small room (20sqm) and don't watch blockbusters.

What are the dimensions of the room and are you happy to wall mount a soundbar?

It’s about 4.5 x 4 metres. I can easily mount a sound bar, I could fit rears as well but they would have to be Bluetooth.

I can’t say I’m up to speed on surround sound really, I see pictures of some tvs with a speaker below and speakers to the side of the tv with rears. I’m not sure what type of set up this is?

TV actually mounted on the wall or sat on a unit?

We have a Sonos Playbase with a pair of Play1's for rears.

It sits under a 50" plasma and is pretty unobtrusive for something so big. 5GHz wireless communication to the surround speakers.

(Playbase prob won't work for you if you're wall mounted).
