We use ours in the back of my Peugeot 306 and Chris's Vectra without any problems. Probably worth getting it checked by an expert though for peace of mind.

Having recently done a search on PH for Cerbera child seats, the Start is always recommended, but... There are some brand new models on the market which fit well too.. Britax have a new model called the Hi-Liner. This fits like a glove in the Cerb, and costs £55 against ther £199 for the Recaro. Recaro also have a new seat called the "young style" at £115 which goes in nicely too. Both these models are suitable for kids form 15kg upwards. We ended up with the Hi-liner. We tried a Start, but our little one did not get on with it. Being big enough for a 12 year old, someone under 2 tends to rattle about a bit in it. When using the start at a young age, it is suggested that use an extra "impact cushion" which is an additional £40. All these seats seem to fit other cars too, but the nice thing is that if you can live with the Hi-liner, you can have one in each car for less than the cost of the Recaro. We have 3 cars & 3 seats which saves a lot of faffing about! As it happens, when we were trying various seats out (Nippers, near Rugby, very patient & helpful) I was told that the 3 series is surprisingly difficult to get a seat to fit well.

Thanks for that Jon. Going to have a look at the Hi-Liner as the wife wouldnt let me buy a Start (too expensive) to move my 3 year old into, instead buying a Mothercare run of the mill jobby, which doesnt fit well into the cerb and I was looking down the barrel of getting a Start as well. At least with the Hi-Liner I can have one of the the 5 baby, seats (and 7 prams/pushchairs!) I now have, dedicated to the TVR

Maybe I should start a 'Swap Shop' for used baby stuff?

We have regularly swapped our Recaro Start seat between Cebera and Saab 9000 without any problems. It has a certain amount of adjustment in the squab and back which may help with some cars.

It also folds which makes it easy to get in and out of the Cerbera and stow in the boot if required.

The start seems to go well into most cars, regularly swap 'tween back (& front) of rav 4, MX5(front only!), yaris, fiesta and numerous other rental cars with no probs. Unfortunately not been able to try in cerbie yet - my grandmother is proving difficult to sell!
