I did this at the weekend, if nothing else it was a excuse to have a long ride in the countryside as I booked a course miles away (for that reason)

It would probably be of greatest use to the young / inexperienced but predictably they weren't the ones who attended (average age was probably 55+)

Living on a bad bend I've had loads of experience of dealing with accidents so the Police part didn't tell me anything I didn't already know and was pretty much common sense.

The Paramedic only went through very basic first aid / CPR so again a bit wasted as I've done courses in the past and was hoping for a better refresher.

Not complaining as it was free and included a first aid kit etc but I thought it would be a bit more thorough.

Apparently they are trying to link Biker Down with Bike Safe and if they could revise both to fit them in one day that would be the best solution IMO

I’ve put out the feelers with some riding buddies to Get enough together to all go and do this, was a positive response but as you say we’re all spread between 44-60 odd!

Did you give those delivering the course your feedback?

Cheers

I didn't because they hadn't done anything wrong but it is very much aimed at people who have no experience with road accidents nor first aid.

I assumed as it was a morning course starting at 9.15 that it would cover 3hrs of information but after the waffle really it was less than an hour on each.

Did the course about two year ago, was much longer, about 2 - 2.5 hours with demonstrations and practical followed by informal chat.
Worthwhile morning.

I've been meaning to do this - I've done the simple day course first aid stuff with work so this would be a good refresher.

Looks like there's one near me too so I'll give it a go, thanks!
