Hi

Resurrecting my old Audi after leaving it a couple of years with a dead clutch. Ran fine before....

Starts fine but with the Map sensor (have bought new) plugged in will start to splutter then cuts out! With it unplugged it runs almost like normal... Cant hear any boost leaks and everything else looks ok. Have cleaned the egr.

Any ideas please as would like to MOT and use soon!

Did you perhaps mean MAF sensor - i.e. Mass Air Flow? Or can someone now educate me about map sensors please?

Maximum Air Pressure MAP Sensor, gives a warning before the doors are blown off, driver has 10 seconds to release pressure by opening a window

Lol yes definitely MAP sensor, will not run if the MAF is unplugged, tried that!

Why did you buy the replacement? Was this part of trouble shooting the current problem by substitution, or a hint at some previous problem?

Bought a new one as thought the Map sensor was issue but no change. No fault codes on VCDS either...
