How hot does power steering fluid get?
Discussion
Hi all,
I had a leak on my Freelander 2 power steering pipe. I replaced the pipe, but now find that the pas fluid reservoir gets hot after only a short (10 min) Drive. It is pretty much too hot to keep my hand on.
It’s not something I’ve ever taken note of before and am wondering whether it’s normal or a problem?
Thanks for any help. Mark.

Power Steering fluid does get hot in use, and most if not all systems use part of the circuit to cool the fluid. Did you just not notice it getting hot before or are you certain it was cooler?
Once you've checked there's enough fluid in the system I'd be inclined to leave it alone if it's working normally.
