chassis plate on westfield - help!
Discussion
hi,
Ive had my westfield SEight (1993 model) for about 3 years now and I have never managed to find the chassis plate yet !!
Can anyone tell me where Im likely to find this? Is it a plate or is it numbers stamped into the chassis itself?
thanks in advance

On early cars, they had a chassis number on the cross member in front of the engine. They consisted of a model number,ie SEIW a date of manufacture and a serial number. Some were engraved, some had it welded on.Later cars had a chassis number on a rail that goes from the bulkhead above the gearbox at an angle of 45 degrees to the side of the car.The earlier cars are trickier to find and will be just ahead of the crankshaft pulley(if its there) the later cars are very obvious.
Why do you need another chassis plate. They are avail from Westfield, although not required for a registered car, only really for people SVA'ing cars.Hope this helps a bit.
