I've sometimes felt the need, but have always practised self control, I don't think some people are worth me risking a broken finger or whatever!

2005 I think. I was a bar supervisor in the local nightclub. Someone came over and told me someone had punched my little brother for no reason (possibly because he was "too gay")

I got to him and assisted him to the door before any of the door staff could. One of the door lads gave him a clip for good measure as he was going

About five years ago. I was at a train station and had had a few beers. I heard a young man talking to his partner, who had (presumably) their baby in a pram.

He was basically telling her he was going to knock the sh*t out of her when they got home. I told him that wasn't particularly sporting behaviour and a scuffle ensued.

I couldn't not say anything, but that black eye was really inconvenient for a few weeks!

Over the years I’ve been punched in the jaw on three occasions without even realising. Handy to have an iron jaw, but lay off the booze a little more now.

Sparring and accidentally hit another student.

I apologised for hitting him, he apologised for putting his head in the way. We're a polite bunch.

Fortunately it was just a punch... Not a technique that could have really hurt.
