Hi, I’ve been lurking around this forum for a long time but only now decided that I need to contribute - or more correctly ask a question of fellow Taycan owners.

I took delivery of my 4S at the end of July and generally delighted with the car. However, when I ask ‘Hey Porsche’ to play me a track on Apple Music I get the response “ Unfortunately this Connect service is not available due to a technical issue”. This kind of defeats the object of the Apple Music capability as you have to search through the keypad - not a good idea when driving.

I have spoken to my dealer and they in turn to Porsche and fed back that it is a common fault. They suggested that I contact Connect directly as they understood there was a fix through changing some settings. I did this and after a couple of days delay they (Connect) came back to say that Germany advised it was not a fault just that the function was not available in these cars. I am not sure I am convinced by the answer hence coming on here to find out if anyone has Apple Music working through Hey Porsche on their Taycan.

I feel your pain....don’t have a Taycan yet though am getting one for a couple of days quite soon.

This is the kind of thing which should be so easy to sort out in theory....but will be a massive ball ache to get a definitive answer on.

Can you not use "Hey Siri" instead? or has "Hey Porsche" replaced this?

I think it’s the same thing but tuned to be a bit of marketing for the Porsche brand.....just in case you forget what you’re driving😀. If you use Apple CarPlay it is Siri but the problem still exists.

Yes, I saw this one. I guess I’m getting off really lightly with just music not being readily available as opposed to my car not being at all available.

AFAIK this is actually an Apple limitation rather than a Porsche one. I will check my training notes but I’m sure this was the case.

Model year 2020 Taycans (i.e. all cars which would have been delivered until now) don't support Song search in Apple music via Hey Porsche. Only playlist, artist and genre.

Song search will be supported on model year 2021 cars, earlier cars' software expected to be updated to include this functionality in due course.

You can obviously still use Siri/CarPlay as an alternative.

Guys, thanks for the info. I will now return my Porsche likeness voodoo dolls and pins to the drawer and await the software update in the fullness of time.
