Noise Cancelling Headphones

I thought I'd put this in the music forum, rather than computers, gadgets and stuff, because all I'm interested in is sound.
My ageing Beats finally took one final fall last night and before anyone tells me how crap Beats are, marketing, cheaply made, blah. blah feckin blah, they have been excellent. Brilliant sound, wether that be on my ride on lawnmower or a Trans-Atlantic flight. No complaints from me, they've been excellent value.
Now I need to replace them, what do I buy? I have a pair of Sennheiser earbuds for walking, etc, but they aren't loud enough. Budget of £500ish.

I'm ear though I hate to say the apple pros are prob the best.
Over ear the latest Sony mx1000mk4 or whatever prob the best, we have some SENNHEISER PXC 550-II which are great.
We tried the bose, noise cancelling was good but as usual the sound quality wasnt up to it

My beats finally expired a few weeks ago when I sat on them when I jumped back on the lawn tractor after cutting the grass. b

Through gritted teeth I bought a pair of the Sony WH-1000XM3 Bluetooth over ear jobbies.
Absolutely brilliant, really easy set up, great sound quality and quite simply the best noise suppression of any I have ever used. Expensive but definitely worth it.

Bose QC iii for me but music isn't my priority - I need them for video conferencing and telephone use in noisy environments first, then listening to TV at night when my family is asleep, and only then music. For calls in noisy environments they beat the Sonys hands down, however for music, the Sonys are better - the QCs are good but it's clear the Sonys were built with music as a priority.

I wear these for travel and when out for a walk on an evening, they are excellent. Good sound quality, decent sound deadening, >20 hour battery life and they are comfy when resting on a plane or similar or when out and about walking - would recommend. Between them and my Sony and Sennheiser sets I honestly can't tell the difference in sound quality (except that the Sonys seem a bit "toppy").
But for comfort the Bose set win by miles.

As if by magic, the company my wife works for sent her a work from home package which included a set of JBL headphones a few days after I started this thread. As a freebie, they weren't bad, there were a few nights when I was having the old party for one in the man cave while she went on to bed and they did their job.
Today I finally got round to finding a replacement for my old Beats. I tried a lot of headphones, most of the recommendations from this thread and a few more. The top of the range Sony were excellent, if I'm honest they probably edged my final choice when it came to sound/bass alone, but the Bose 700's were just better all round. Great sound and more importantly very comfortable.
I used to travel a fair bit, if the world ever returns to normal, they'll make a long journey a lot quieter.
Anyone in the know when it comes to Sound Bars? That's next on my agenda.
