Can anyone recommend someone to restore the grille on the Aston Martin Rapide S near to Leicestershire ? Or alternatively guide me on any solution that will remove the marks on the grille ? Images below.

I was hoping one of the smart repairers would do it for me but struggling to find anyone to do it. Thanks in advance

Would either dilute descaler, or a 50:50 mix of white vinegar and water on a paper towel be safe to use?

Are the bright finish grilles made of stainless steel?

As far as I know the vanes are aluminium with an anodised or lacquer (or both) finish. I think any caustic or abrasive approach is likely to make the situation worse.

You could polish off the finish and the corrosion but clean, unprotected aluminium oxidised to a matt, white, powdery finish pretty quickly, so the vanes would have to be lacquered as a minimum. If they are lacquered then you’d have to do them all as raw aluminium may look different to the anodised finish. It looks like you'd have to remove and dissemble the grille to treat it successfully.

I could, of course, be wrong - but I’d urge caution.

I would ask someone like the car cleaner at your local dealer what they do - they must see this every day when they buy in cars - or speak to one of the reputable valet peeps who frequently work with the marque.

I’d give that a go with a clay bar. Gentle but does the job incredibly well of removing contaminates.

I had the same problem some time ago, albeit a bit less than that.

I used this, perfect.

I used autoglym resin polish as it has a fine cutting agent. Worked well
