The past few days we have heard a lot of high altitude activity above our home for periods of about an hour or so.
I'm wondering if it related to the Russki incursions in recent days?
Any info from those in the know?

Just normal exercises, nothing more sinister.

As you probably already know, you live beneath military training airspace.

I do but it has been more than I remember and I've lived her for 20 years. It just seems higher intensity than I recall and it is usually lower altitude, great to see, pilot waving at the kids stuff!

617 Squadron have their American guests from VMFA-211 Squadron at their Marnham home at the moment and have been playing together. No idea if they've made it over to your area though.
They've been here for about a fortnight and will depart to meet up with HMS Queen Elizabeth sometime soon.

If the fast mover fun and games over your house is to do with QRA and the Russians then we are stuffed as a nation..... Q intercepts will be way out in the Atlantic or very far up the North Sea.

QRA North is currently at Leuchars and South is at Coningsby. Unless you live between the location of the intercept and either of those two bases you will not be disturbed by a Q shout.

Quite a few scheduled exercises on at the moment as previously mentioned, plus the good weather is an opportunity to get lots of training in.

Could be the US F-16's over from their base in Italy and operating out of Lakenheath, which have been very busy around the UK recently playing with the Lakenheath F-15's.
