Amazon Fire HD
Discussion
Tempted by one of these as a replacement for an elderly iPad mini.
Anyone in the know - some questions please...
Does the native web-browser support some kind of 'incognito' mode? Useful for getting ferry prices, holiday prices etc. Or could I download a different browser?
All of my music is currently stored in iTunes on my PC - can this be downloaded to a Fire in a format it can stream via Bluetooth?
Anyy major downsides?

They're not very good for web browsing, in my experience. They do have an incognito mode on the included browser, or you can install Google Play store and download any browser.
Not sure how you would use your Apple music, unless it's available from the Kindle Store. You'd probably need to install Google Play for that as well, and download Apple Music from there.
I'd personally look at a proper Android tablet. I've just bought one from China for £100 all in, and it's much better than the Fire 10 it replaced for anything other than streaming video.

Wife’s FireHD 10 was delivered yesterday
Was £89.99 in the amazon sale
A good bit of kit for the money
We spent a couple of hours setting it up
A lot of Amazon Apps can’t be deleted easily, but simple enough to stick them in a folder & hide them away
Downloaded eg Spotify / SkyGo easily . I thought it would be more difficult, but via the Amazon app thingy
Wife downloaded Amazon Photos app on her iphone. So then all her photos were accesssble on the Fire
The SkyGo had been more stable than on my old Ipad
A good bit of kit for the price. She was going to get a new ipad to replace her ancient one which is now losing key apps . But this does what she wants.
Wish i’d bought one now, will wait for the next sale day!
