What are most going for?

Me, I'm going for both because for all the specs in the world youre only as good as the game choice and bith machine have must have games.

I’m almost definitely getting an Xbox X at launch, will wait and pick up a digital edition PS5 later on.

Hate the looks of the PlayStation though. I might wait and see if they do a black edition or the inevitable downsized one.

Xbox first, PS5 later, maybe when its a Slim or Pro version, and not a giant white melted ring binder. I do play Xbox a lot more than PS though.

I just preordered a new Oculus Quest 2 ...

... But will be beefing up my PC with a next-gen card (probably a 3070 but I will wait to see what AMD have in store and for cards to be available at RRP) and am strongly tending towards picking up a Series S on the monthly deal offer just to have a nice new-gen console for negligible outlay and benefit from the game pack.

If MS were to announce VR headset support for the Xbox, it'd push me towards getting a Series X instead but no word from them.

I'll retain my PS4 Pro for my largely unplayed or unfinished PS4/PSVR games library and use it for Blu Rays. It's a great console with a lot of life in it yet.

They sold out, you know, like every new console release does

The issue was that they didn’t officially give a launch date, then confirmed a date through Jeff Keighley on Twitter. Then let retailers start selling preorders two days before that date.

A shambles.

LoL it wasn't a great 24 hours for many. For those who got lucky are probably wondering what game they actually want to play on it.......

I'd love to get a proper PC rig with VR set up but that is for me more money than I'd want to spend considering I think £450 is alot for a console.

I had the PS4 from day 2 of UK launch and the PS5 I hope will take me through. May get Sony VR

Can't wait to see if Rocket League looks any better....... Haha

PS5 first then Xbox, although may wait until the new year as I still have a crazy backlog that I really should play at some point.

The digital edition PS5 is tempting me, seems like excellent value.

But I haven't done a pre-order for anything.

They officially confirmed the pre-order date on twitter at the end of the price announcement video as being the next day.

I didn't see a single retailer in the UK put the console available to pre-order until the morning after the price was announced (in line with the pre-order date). Some of them went live at 1minute past midnight (think Game did that?) others waited until 9am (Amazon) and others a full day later (Argos). And like every new console release the first wave sold out in short order.

Which suppliers went live for pre-orders the day before the price was released?

Lots of gaming related expenditure being contemplated - Oculus Quest 2 (have a Quest), an XBox Series X (have a XBox One) and a GTX 3070 (have a GTX 1060 and don't PC Game).

All unnecessary as I have very little free time for gaming anymore.

Won't be getting both.

Don't get much gaming time as it is.

Wil go Xbox as that's what i've always had and very few exclusives to differentiate between then two that i'm interested in playing.

On reflection I don't see a need for me to upgrade at all initially, will probably sign up for an X at some point though.

Xbox for me, I'm a sucker for Halo and GOW, and none of the Sony exclusives have really floated my boat as of yet. I'll probably end up getting a PS5 at some point though once they give a bit more detail on the PSVR implementation, I'm a big fan of the current version so a more powerful kit can only be a good thing biggrin

The Microsoft/Zenimax deal and game pass might swing this to xbox for me.

I won't be pre-ordering though.

Xbox, wont pre order.
No rush will wait until early next year, as the usual no stock takes place over holiday time.
