Hello, so I looking to spend no more than 6k on a car the I occasionally take to track (about 5 times a year) and puts a smile on my face!

I would ideally be looking for a coupe rwd however if there’s something else I haven’t thought about feel free to let me know!

I’ve had Mx-5’s in the past and want something a little faster and something that if a bit of a head turner, if that’s even possible at this price point.

I’m considering a 350z (276hp becuase it seems to help on insurance)
And also a Audi TT mk2 (8j) 3.2 v6 Quattro

Mpg isn’t a huge issue
And also would like something nice don’t have to worry about breaking all the time too if possible

Please suggest away!

BMW Z4 3.0si?

I had one of these for two years from 80k-105k and had zero issues, averaged 28mpg (motorway and urban) with 265bhp.

Can pick them up quite cheap now!

I'd also be going in the direction of the 350Z at your budget for sure. thumbup

You'd get a nice RX8 at that budget too. It could possibly be troublesome though, but it certainly is an option.

Good option, or Boxter.

Rx8 is worth a punt at a grand or two, not six. They are silly cars with high ved and low mpg, bloody good fun to drive though, but if not put 6 k into one

Yes and that is a good point regarding the RX8. The Z4 is a good value car for sure, however I didn't really gel with my Z4M for a few reasons though.

didn't think of the z43.0
is it just the convertible ones or. are the coupes for 6k under?
and also what do people think of the Audi TT 8j 3.2 Quattro?

ive seen a few rx8 r3's for 5k, one with a rebuild and engine warrantee, would you say that's a safer rx8 to go for?

I had one and it’s a nice car, but not rewarding on track.

I would find a nice 986 Boxster S.

I think I would be going for the 350Z at the budget over the TT I think it would be a much more involving drive.

Is a hot hatch definitely not in consideration? I like the 350z but have only ever overtaken them on track days, never seen quick one on track yet.
