Contemplated ceiling speakers but then heard a friends BW zepplin speaker and it sounded great. I don't think they make it anymore it was probably nigh on 10 years old. Whats the best sounding speaker available today. Bose, sonos, BW? We have teenagers so dance and pop music is the main soundtrack. Budget up to £600.

I have a Bose revolve +, great speaker and half your budget including charging pad. Buy two and you can link them too.

Thats a possibility. Do you find the Bose has plenty of low end grunt?

If you want grunt, have a look at the Harman Kardon Citation 500.

Sonos aren’t Bluetooth are they?

Yes it’s surprising how much for such a small device. About three of my friends have bought them after hearing mine. I believe if you order direct they do 30 days or something if you don’t like it.

Have a Sonos Play5 in the kitchen, does the job and you can control it through using Alexa which works nicely for me. Isn't bluetooth so having access to a music streaming service like Spotify and Amazon Music which are compatible with it is fairly essential I've found.

If you're in the Apple ecosystem, then the HomePod is worthy of consideration - and only £200 at John Lewis at the moment - or buy 2 and set them up in stereo.

Got one of these. More than enough grunt for a kitchen.

I also have a SONOS 5 and find it excellent for the kitchen. It's not Bluetooth but I use with streaming services. An alternative could be the SONOS MOVE. Not quite as good sound wise as the 5 (but still very good for a stand alone speaker) but has great flexibility / potability and is Bluetooth.

Sonos Move. Which is the only Sonos with Bluetooth, but it opens up great flexibility, and sounds great.

Thanks for replies, i think I probably mean 'Smart' speaker and not Bluetooth. Is that what they are called now?
Also I have an Alexa in the kitchen at the moment are any of the above able to replicate having an alexa there without actually having the alexa plugged in and set up?

What about the Sonos Arc - its sleek and can be wall mounted. Any experience on here of one?

I've got an Audio Pro Addon C5 out my kitchen, amazing sound for such a relatively small box. It plays via wi fi and Bluetooth and compatible with various apps like Spotify etc . If you go for the C5A then it's all controllable from Alexa. They're around the £200, so in the grand scheme of things, not that expensive.

I would think the ARC would be better suited to being placed below a TV and the set up of sound will be geared towards home cinema.

I would stick with the play 5 or two play ones combined to a stereo pair. I have a beam and two play ones and would prefer the two ones in my kitchen over the beam.

I have been through all the music systems for my kitchen, some better than others, the best by far is the second hand rotel amp and mission speakers that I'm using at the moment. Alexa connected through the aux if and when required. All in cost was around £150 (thanks gumtree)

The sound is far better than the Sonos / Bose / zeppelin All in one units that I previously used.

Something like this https://www.richersounds.com/hi-fi/hi-fi-packages/... will give a far better sound than Bose / Sonos etc...all in one speaker with room to add components if required.

Will take up a little more space but a far better sound with more flexibility than the all in one units mentioned.

Just my opinion
