2016 Focus, front pads, need a rewind tool?
Discussion
Hi folks
Just saved my SiL from the grasp of the Ford dealer, who had given it the old ‘pads are 90% worn they need doing immediately’, line.
Having had a quick look, they are nothing like 50%, but nonetheless she wants them doing. So I of course stuck my hand up to sort them for her.
I’ve only done back pads on a Ford recently, and had to borrow a rewind tool that fits at the last minute.
I presume that rears have rewind because of the handbrake, and fronts don’t? It should be a standard push back type? Is that correct?
It’s a 1.0 ecoboost manual if that matters.
Cheers folks

Correct. If you aren't familiar with servicing brakes, make sure you also clean everything and lubricate the moving parts before refitting the calipers, and reseat the pads on each corner before you move on to the next. Unless the fluid has been renewed within the last couple of years I'd flush them too.

Also if there is significant disc wear I tend to do the lot together as it saves coming back to it next year.
