Hi,

Can anyone tell me in sport mode if the throttle bodies open more than in normal mode under ( foot to the floor ) full acceleration.

Thanks in advance .

I'm pretty sure that accelerator pedal flat on the floor means the the car is WOT irrespective of the sport setting; the only difference between Sport mode and normal is the map that gets you there. You get a wider-open throttle with the same pedal movement in sport compared to non-sport, especially at light throttle application

Correct, full throttle is full throttle.

The sport button just gives you a heavy / clumsy right foot meaning you end up with more throttle than you would otherwise have intended to give the car. It also changes the exhaust valve mappings, assuming you've not already taken the fuse out - hence making it sounds more aggressive too.

Best solution - remove exhaust fuse, don't press sport button and then mindfully choose to use the linear accelerator pedal as much or little as you wish wink

Each to their own Adam, and I'll admit I'm not trying to tame a V12, but I prefer the throttle map in "Sport" on my V8V. With the possible exception of trundling in traffic and avoiding the SSII going into terminal transmission shunt.

My Sport button now controls the exhaust valves (off=closed/quiet, on=open/loud obviously) and has no influence on the throttle map which has been changed to eliminate the "flat spot" at the top of the peddle's travel which made Heel & Toe difficult. All BR's good work.

The reason why I asked the question is I had a issue on the car yesterday.

My current spec is

Secondary decat
Air filters
Vanquish inlet plenums.

Now I have not used the sport button until today, before today the car would rev freely past 6k rpm

I pressed the sport button and the car hesitated after 6k rpm.

Thanks

Not trying o teach you to suck eggs, but I presume you've done extensive testing to confirm that it's not a one-off; i.e. you get a hesitation in Sport at 6k, it goes away in normal, it comes back again when you immediately press Sport again, it goes away again in normal, etc. etc. And you've done this on several trips on several days?

Just looking to confirm it's definitely related to the use of the Sport button and not an intermittent misfire caused by something else. It might also be useful to drive it to close to empty, fill up again, drive a few miles to get the fresh fuel well into the system and assess it all again to eliminate fuel as a possible cause..

It did it twice and I did not want to risk it again in case I caused damage. Next time I use the car I will try it again.
