A few days ago I had a sudden intermittent ABS, Traction Control light pop up on the dash, now its on constant.

I cleaned the sensors and checked the wiring for breaks, seems fine.

I put it all back together and the fault cleared for about 10 mins. I stopped at traffic lights, pulled off and they came on again.

I plugged in my FORSCAN and these are the codes and faults that popped up again - C0034, C0037.

Is there any relationship between the FRONT RIGHT and REAR LEFT wheels, for both of them to suddenly show faults?

I'd be looking at the ABS control module which is quite a common fault on these. It's part of the ABS pump which can be sent away for repair.

Not sure on the Mk3's but on the Mk2's abs/tc fault codes usually led to a faulty instrument cluster.

Just swapped left and right, front sensors... seems that might have been an old stored DTC.

The only fault code I have now is for REAR LEFT...

Ive swapped the front and rears left/right and still have the DTC for rear left.So I know its NOT the sensor - I no longer have a DTC for Front Right - I know assume that to have been an old stored code, as its not come back at all.

I've checked the wiring from rear wheel to the inside the car (rubber grommet by rear seat). There's no breaks, no shorts and 12v all the way to the rear wheel - unless it's an intermittent short somewhere further up the loom (from rear seat onwards...)

After putting it all back together for a test drive, no faster than 30mph for around 10 mins, with a few harsh stops, hill starts and stop start traffic with handbrake... There's no ABS light YET. So, we'll see what happens when I take it for a more spirited drive tonight.

I was starting to think its was the ABS ring in the hub?
