Its the usual Pistonhead "sheep" mentality creeping in, the majority have probably never seen one in the flesh, let alone driven one.
I have, in the showroom though as they haven't sold many so you don't see any on the road
The rest of the range doesn't look so bad, I think they deliberately did those headlights on the vantage as their research probably showed the previous vantage may have been taking sales from the more expensive models.
At the Concours of Elagance a few weeks ago, Aston had a stand and brought along several cars including the DBX. But they didn't have a Vantage there.
I'm sure the new Vantage is a better car than the older one. But Astons have to look good first and foremost.

The truth is, it's only repeating what this sub-forum generally thinks about the same car (and the rest of the current range). It's a disliked car which has failed in multiple aspects (is there a single thing about it that the core demographic like?). Until an all-new car is launched, it will remain a failure - the core demographic wont buy one and those with no interest in it, will continue to liken it to an MX-5, in the same way DBX is compared to a Ford Puma.

usual PH negativity. It is a completely different story in the comments section of the Carfection video. There is almost universally praised.bogie said:

I've not heard that before.
The Puma was a small two door car. Has there been another one using that name?

The new Puma, not the old Fiesta-based one.
I cant say I agree with the sentiments, nor that the Vantage looks like an MX-5, but it's all subjective.

Line up a row of these cars, take off the badges and I doubt that I could name a single one of them.
Ford, Kia, Hyundai, Skoda, Audi, VW, Mitsubishi, Renault, Nissan, Seat, Mazda, Honda.
Perhaps some are manufacturer joint ventures, so they really are identical.
Shame no manual option as there is on the coupe. Must be saving for a crazy expensive limited edition no doubt.
Also needs the DBX interior.
Looks really nice though and love the size vs the DB11/s. Major improvement over the coupe w/ original grill.
Surely a v12 version in 2-3 years..?

The one at Hampton Court? They had a Vantage Roadster there.
