Labour's Illegal Wars.
Discussion
Last night during the debate over the overseas operations bill, the Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace, stated it was needed because of Labour's Illegal Wars. If the government has acknowledged that the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts were illegal have we just opened ourselves up to almost unlimited claims for compensation from those affected?
Also, three MPs who voted against the labour whip have been sacked from their posts.

Which of these illegal wars did he and his party oppose?
Exactly. Prior to our Mesopotamian misadventure and when Iain Duncan Smith was Tory leader he was constantly being briefed by the Bush administration as they knew he would promote their narrative when it came to Iraq. IDS wanted Blair and co to act sooner and harder and claimed Saddam had missiles which could reach London (even the Labour government didn’t buy into this particular lie from the Americans although they did say Iraq had missiles which could reach British targets in Cyprus).
Had Ken Clarke been Tory leader back then I wonder if Blair would have done what he did.
Nevertheless, thats quite a statement to make by a current Defence Secretary. Wonder what British troops who served in Iraq think when they hear such things from one of their bosses? Can’t be great for moral.
