About to take the old girl to the MOT, so charged up the battery as haven't started her for a couple of days, got in turned the key and no start. Jesus H C. What now ? Haven't touched anything or done anything, just left it ready to go. Cranks over, nearly gets there and still keeps on cranking. Spark/petrol/timing seem to be OK. No probs days before. Started on the button.
So I am mighty p****d off. Is owning a wedge this frustrating as I am finding it a continuous disappointment. Its just not worth the aggro. Beautiful day, ready for it and - an allmighty kick in the nadgers again.

Loose connector to the ECU coolant temperature sensor? Fuel pump running? Fuel in the tank...?

Loose connection somewhere?! Wiggle all the connections and try again. Are you saying it catches but doesn't keep running? If so, as Wedg1e says, it could be the coolant temperature sensor, making the ECU give it more juice than necessary. Do you have the cold strat injector disconnected?

Keep the faith Ugly, owning a Wedge will always be a battle of wits, frustration and let downs.

But when it works, look out.......as I said before its like going out with a really sexy, dirty woman who is also mad as a hatter and likes arguing, but then knows how to make up for it........

Try keeping your foot flat to the floor on the throttle as you crank it. Another vehicle alongside with jumpleads on may help, as that battery space is a bit weedy...

Had similar problem on a 350i a couple of years ago. Car would crank over ok but not fire. Eventually put some jump leads on it and it fired first try. Turns out the battery was knackered even though it could crank the car over for 10 mins.

Hi Mike. Yes I was at Coombe. Took some pics of you hooning on track. Talked to a guy next to his blue wedge. Others were there, tryed to talk but all gradually drifted off so left on my own to take some more piccys. So toddled off on my own to watch the guy in the M3 give it large at other side of circiut.
