I'm super late to this party, obviously he's well known but not nearly enough in my books.

Actually doing something fresh and interesting with the guitar rather than the same old played out stuff.

been learning some of his material and its super fun.

Fascinating playing, there's a lot of Classical & Jazz in there.
Watched a couple of vids he looks about 14, was amazed when I read he's 26

He is in a guitar duo called Polyphia who started off as a rich kid music project writing deritivite material but have developed their own style now, which has moved away from straight shred "djent" (I cringe to use the term) to a sort of djent over trap beats.

Tim is definitely the better of the two guitarists in the group.

If you like Tim's playing, check out Chon, they are a similar vein, with more major tonality.

After reading the foregoing I went off and checked out a few videos, expecting to have to come back here and post, 'bloody hell what a horrible noise' - which is my opinion of the vast majority of rock/pop.

I was however pleasantly surprised, Polyphia is certainly worthy of further investigation.

Polyphia certainly suits a simpler ear. Truly, there is music out there for everyone.
