The Vin No. I believe will be the Jago Chassis No. You should find it stamped on the suspension strut top plate (right hand side on mine).(it won't be on a normal type vin plate)
Mine is three letters followed by four numbers...the numbers also give you which month and year Jago produced the chassis. You may have to give the top plate a bit of a clean up to see the number.
Your V5 should also state under D.1 Make...Jago or Jago Jeep/Sandero/Geep/Sam..etc.,
D.3 Body Type Light 4x4 Utility
Hope this is of some help
Cheers

Mmmm...I stand corrected then about the Vin plate then, I based my earlier posting on my own experiences with my wrongly detailed V5, when I bought my latest Jeep.
It may be worth trying to get the official line of where the owner stands when driving around in a kit car which carries the Vin Plate of another, i.e. the donor. Could well be different departments of officialdom have different interpretations of the rules and regs?
Cheers everyone............

Hmmm....lol!.....
For those who don't know, my Jeep had to be inspected by the DVLA and the outcome was:-
1)Jago chassis number stamped on top suspension plate accepted and logged on V5 as VIN/Chassis Frame No.
2)Engine No. had to be corrected as previous owners had not changed documentation
3)Make had stated Ford...now correctly states 'Jago Jeep'
4)Body type now correctly states...'Light 4x4 Utility Vehicle'....and not 4 door Escort
5) Colour RED lol
I am under the distinct impression from the powers that be, that the Vin Plate contains unique information appertaining to just one vehicle's identity. That identity cannot be transfered to another vehicle.
It could well be that this is a bit of a grey area, as I think we all know of the term 'ringer' and common sense should prevail that no one is going to nick an Escort to then sell on with that car's identity riveted onto a kit car.
